He
has also served as Assistant Concertmaster of the Baltimore Symphony and as
Assistant Principal Second Violinist of the Detroit Symphony.
Mr. Llinas has appeared several times in chamber music concerts at Severance Hall. He performed as soloist with the Baltimore and Detroit orchestras and twice with The Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center.
With
the Suburban Symphony he performed violin concertos by Beethoven, Brahms,
Dvoràk, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius and appeared as guest
conductor on several occasions. This is Mr. Llinas' twenty-fifth year as
Concertmaster of the Suburban Symphony.
Emilio
Llinas has been a member of The
Cleveland Orchestra since 1968 and has served as Assistant Principal of
the second violin section since1977. He studied with Mischa Mischakoff and
Joseph Silverstein and is a graduate of Brandeis University where he was a
member of the faculty string quartet.
